A week after the release of iOS 15.2 in Italy, a rather important update for all compatible iPhones, we discuss the change of focus of Apple towards the successor iOS 16 coming in 2022. In particular, according to recent rumors, such update could say goodbye to some older iPhones.
According to iPhonesoft, a portal that would in turn obtain information from exclusive sources within the Cupertino colossus, Apple would be reflecting on the removal of support for iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and l A forecast that is understandable, especially if you consider that all these models have been released between 2015-2016 and therefore they are close to the sixth or seventh year of software support.
Apple would also plan the continuous support of iOS 15 in the case of iPhone 6s and iPhone SE owners with security patches for several years also following the release of iOS 16, expected for now at fall 2022. On the new features of the next major update there are no indiscretions.
On the iPad side, again according to iPhonesoft, iPadOS 16 should be incompatible with iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad (fifth generation) and iPad Pro 2015 models. As with previous market entries, however, we recommend taking all cum wheat salt.
In conclusion, it should be remembered that shortly the update to iOS 15.3 should also arrive given the release of the first beta for developers.
