Mars is without a doubt a place full of charm and mystery. The Red Planet is also a popular destination for space agencies and even Elon Musk… which is said to have reached the planet in 10 years. Now, the Rover Perseverance sent us a really spectacular video.

Perseverance landed inside the crater Jezero on February 18, 2021 and its goal is to seek evidence of life and collect samples for the future return to Earth. The spacecraft, thanks to its incredible Mastcam-Z camera system, showed us the interior of the crater (which you can print even in 3D).

It may seem like a simple video for all “not in charge,” but scientists have identified the solidified remains of the ancient delta of a river and a whitish spot located at the bottom of the crater that the team has nicknamed “the strip of p “We think it’s a layer of mud deposited at the bottom of the lake, now turned into rock,” said Ken Farley of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) of NASA.

This layer of mud could be very important as it would seem to be one of the best places to look for life. Perseverance is getting a lot of work done on Mars: it took more than 100,000 images, collected more than 50 gigabytes of data and sealed six tubes of samples to bring them back to Earth perhaps already in 2031.
