With the publication of the official technical files, a few hours away from the official announcement of iPhone 13 and 13 Pro, details on the new lineup of smartphones made in Apple are still emerging. The Cupertino giant, specifically, confirmed the support for Dual eSIM on the four models.
As the name suggests, Dual eSIM support allows you to match two eSIM smartphones simultaneously. This is an important novelty since all iPhones from Xs to 12 last year allowed to associate only one virtual card to the phone.
In the section on the compatibility of SIM cards, in fact, the following is stated:
Dual SIM (nano-SIM + eSIM)
Compatible with Dual eSIM
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are not compatible with existing micro-SIM cards.
Basically, therefore, thanks to this novelty you can have three different lines on the same iPhone, but it is not clear whether they can work all three together or not.
Still from the connectivity front, Apple during the keynote also confirmed that the new iPhone 13 models support multiple 5G bands, which will allow multiple users from more countries to access the new new generation connection platform.
Remember that the preorders of iPhone 13 will start Friday 17 September, while the official launch with relative availability in stores is scheduled on 24 September, the following week.
Meanwhile, Apple confirmed this morning that iPhone 13 is heavier and often than iPhone 12.
