The revolution launched by Facebook a few months ago opened the door to a new market, which with the passing of the months will certainly make you talk about yourself. It was just a few days ago that ONE Sotheby’s and Voxel announced that they worked with Gabe Sierra on “MetaReal.”
As you can easily guess from the name, it is a house that will exist in both the real world and the metaverse, in two equal copies. The villa, in its virtual version, will be located in the metaverse of The Sandbox, which we have long talked about on these pages.
The lucky buyer who will take home the NFT, will also acquire the property rights of the physical counterpart, which will arise in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Miami and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. The house will be sold at auction in 2022 at a price not yet known, but certainly not accessible for many since it will be over 3000 square meters large. The transaction will be executed on Ethereum’s blockchain.
Gabe Sierra, founder of Meta Residence, spoke with Forbes explained that “the counterpart of the Metaverse of the house will be an extension to that present in the real world, allowing the buyer to host meetings, events and parties at home with guests from all over the world. We are creating an experience that merges the boundaries between Metaverse and reality.”
This is an absolute first since such a project had never been proposed before.
