On the occasion of the Milan Design Week, OPPO presents Bamboo (

Through this artistic installation, OPPO aims to explore the …………………………………… The opera represents an evolution of the Bamboo Ring created by OPPO and Kengo Kuma who debuted at the London Design Festival 2019, when the company wanted to explore the harmonious relationship between man and nature through the vision of light structures

For this year, this revisiting uses a technology that involves all senses through a series of orchestral scores composed by Japanese violinist Midori Komachi with Musicity. This composition is based on the cycle of the seasons and moves through the structure, encouraging the public to walk around the opera and to be captured by its sound narrative. The mutating soundscapes integrate the sound of Midori violin (built in Milan in 1920 and improved with the same carbon fiber) by O Relax, a digital application of the well-being of OPPO that offers sounds of nature and the city

The interwoven structure of the installation becomes a musical instrument, leaving the music to travel through it thanks to structural sound technologies resulting from the research of OPPO London Design Centre. One of the particularly innovative technologies developed by OPPO includes new aptic motors, strips of MEMS speakers and transducers that work to produce an immersive base and higher frequencies that affect bamboo with vibrato of the violin and

Following the Milan Design Week, OPPO will donate Bamboo Ring to Arte Sella in Trentino, a contemporary outdoor art museum with exhibitions made with natural materials in the background of the Sella Valley, where it will find its headquarters

Jintong Zhu, Head of OPPO London Design Centre, said the following about this installation: “OPPO is a human-centric company and as such our goal is to constantly provide the most advanced technologies to people We are pleased to collaborate with Kengo Kuma, an architect known for the perfect integration between nature and culture. Together, we demonstrate how technology and design can be used to add value to our daily lives by drawing on the principles of our philosophy of “Technology as an art form” and on the mission of our brand “Technology for Mankind, Being Kind to the World.”

Kengo Kuma himself said: “When I design architectural projects, I make sure to work on rhythm and tone rather than shape, contemporary music gives us many lessons on how to create new musicality in architecture. Thanks to these new forms of technology, this structure combines visual and acoustic experiences of visitors.

All this happens a few days after the European presentation of OPPO Reno6, a range of smartphones that will revolutionize video-portraits.
