Samsung, Closes The Tizen App Store: Here Are The Devices For

1 Mins read

In our Galaxy Watch 4 Active review we pointed out that it was the smartwatch of change because of Samsung’s abandonment of Tizen. Now, the South Korean giant takes another step towards his retirement on a lot of other devices.

The beginning of 2022, in fact, sees another piece of history in the field of mobile phones closed after the official LG farewell to smartphones of the past months. As of January 1, 2022, the marketplace for smartphone applications with Tizen operating system is officially closed permanently for both historical users and new recordings, which were no longer possible as early as June 2021.

This is definitely not a news that will upset the market more than ever, since smartphones with this operating system have been out of the picture for several years, with a final attempt represented by the Samsung Galaxy Z4 of 2017.

If you still have such a device, you may soon find it with no longer updated applications and then soon the time will come for a device change to iOS or Android.

Currently Tizen is still the heartbeat of Samsung’s smart TV, one of the most popular ecosystems on the square along with LG’s webOS and Android TV on panels of multiple brands.
