Whatsapp, Goodbye To Different Iphones And Android Smartphones: Here Are Those No Longer Supported

1 Mins read

After the Whatsapp shake of November 1, 2021, when the appication said goodbye to various smartphones and obsolete operating systems, 2022 also opens with the end of support by the instant messaging app for various releases

In this case, as we read on the page dedicated to the operating systems supported by Whatsapp, at the time we are writing the app developers show that it is supported only on the following devices:

Android 4.1 and later

and later iPhone versions with iOS 10 and later

and later versions KaiOS 2.5.0 and later, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2

Whatsapp is used to making decisions of this kind, as with the continuous updates that it is usual to launch for the app the older devices may not be able to hold.

In fact, Whatsapp explains that “devices and software are subject to frequent changes, so we periodically review which operating systems we support and perform the necessary updates. To decide in which cases to stop support, like all other companies in the technology sector, each year we examine which devices and software are less recent and count the least number of users. These devices may not have the latest security updates, or may not have the features required to run WhatsApp.”
