After the launch in Italy of Redmi Watch 2 Lite, new cheap Xiaomi smartwatch, the Chinese giant moves focus on the world of smart TV making Xiaomi TV Stick 4K official, device with Andro
At the Fire TV 4K Max launched in Italy in October, the Asian producer answers with this new TV Stick with some interesting news. First, compared to the predecessor, there is an important change on the façade: the initial Mi disappears and leaves room for the essence of the product, avoiding communication problems due to repetitive nomenclature.
Aesthetically, however, nothing changes: the stick remains black and with both opaque and glossy details, like the Xiaomi logo on the back. The remote control remains in the same way as the previous one, with two buttons dedicated to Netflix and Prime Video, a button designed to activate the Google Assistant of Android and the necessary buttons for navigation.
The drive itself has a Cortex-A35 quad-core processor and a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, both supplied by the British manufacturer ARM. On the side of the memory we find 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, while on the side connectivity is the support to Wi-Fi Dual Band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, HDMI, micro US
The most important novelty is the ability to play content in 4K, a necessary jump from the Full HD+ offered by the previous TV Stick released by Xiaomi. Among the supported video codecs we find all the most relevant standards on the market, and support for the Dolby Vision standard is also guaranteed; on the audio side, therefore, we find the Dolby Atmos and DTS Surround HD decoders.
At present, Xiaomi’s official Italian website presents a page dedicated to Xiaomi TV Stick 4K, but the sale has not yet begun and neither the price nor the date of launch on the market of the country are known. As always, however, we will update you as soon as there are news.
